Janelyn and Mark’s story isn’t a short one, in fact it’s been in the works for quite a long time. The first met years ago on an online role play game, it was so long ago Janelyn had to think hard of what it was called. The other twist, was they were literally oceans apart, as Mark lives(d) in the UK. Throughout the years, these two created a bond and a unique relationship, with more curveballs than just distance. Mark and Janelyn were actually suppose to have their wedding back in 2020, and with all the shutdown and restrictions, they had to postpone. Fast forward, they were finally able to have their big day, and even though it was chilly, it was beautiful!

They say that true love will find it’s way, and that’s fitting for Bryant and Hunter. Hunter and Bryant met several years ago through their employment at Valleyfair, dated for awhile and life took them down separate paths. They found their way back to each other, and what a perfect fairy tale like venue to have their wedding; that’s the reason they chose it! Their reception venue was one of a kind, it was like stepping back into time with different performing stages, and many, many carousels!

It’s nice to be able to photograph a session close to home, so I was excited when Kaitlyn said Lagoon Park sounded good! It’s not a big park, but it has great options, and some really good fall colors. An engagement session is a great time to get to know each other, and we found out we had a lot of people and things in common we both knew!

In all my years of photography, this was a first. There was a huge storm blowing in – hail, winds, rain and Chris and Nicole and I decided to still go for it! I’m so glad we did, because the photos turned out amazing and had I not just mentioned it, noone would have ever known! The fall colors were beautiful and the trees helped to hold off the rain, and at the end the sun even surprised us by coming out. I have done a lot of sessions as an Eden Prairie Engagement Photographer and this session for Starling Lake Park Engagement Photography was no different! I can’t wait for the next time.

Katie and Josh have been together for 14 years, and you can tell by how comfortable they are with each other, and their sense of humor together. This couple (and friends) were all about taking fun and funny photos. This wedding has been a couple years in the making, with some setbacks (thanks Covid), but this day turned out beautiful! Mindy and Zack met the first time well over a decade ago at a friends house back in High School. They reconnected when Zack Facebook messaged Mindy, but it took Mindy several months to actually see the message. The message was very simple “I like you”, but that’s all it took for this romance to begin to bud and blossom. Mindy and Zack were the first couple to get married at this new venue Garagetown, so it was wonderful to be able to be the first photographer to be there as a Garagetown LLC Wedding Photographer!

What I learned the day of Daniel and Bailey’s wedding is that Bailey is accident prone, but an injury is what lead Daniel and Bailey to meeting. They were both attending the University of Mary and met in the training room after both recovery from injuries. A chance encounter turned into a blossoming romance. Daniel and Bailey both have a great sense of humor and are both often laughing, sometimes even at each other. They like to poke each others buttons. They say that laughter is not only great for the soul but for a realtionship, these two are definitely on the right track! Each time I get to be a St Wenceslaus Catholic Church Wedding Photographer, I’m reminded just how beautiful the church really is.

When photographing a wedding, we learn a lot about the bride and groom, like that if Kate puts her mind to something, she gets it done or make sure it happens. This happened the night she met Ben. She spotted him, and knew that he was what she was looking for. These two are perfectly matched for each other, from their love of Harry Potter to their activites- they played rugby for awhile! When it came to planning their wedding, they had a couple set backs. Their first venue had a tornado come through the property, their second venue closed due to the pandemic, and it was their third venue that was their lucky number three! Their number three was a great opportunity for me as a Hope Glen Farm Wedding Photographer. We had a beautiful day, and we’re glad their finally got to say “I do”!
