I absolutely love when venue’s do little things to make the Bride’s day even more special. This little gesture was wonderful, I just had to share!

The birth of a child is a celebration and joyous time for everyone. This was such a beautiful day! I am so glad that Chris and Scarlet allowed me to be a part of such an intimate part of their lives. I received my wake-up call from Scarlet at 2am to let me know they were dropping off their other child, CJ and headed to the hospital. She called me an hour later and said I could come down anytime. I arrived at 4am and from there everything seemed to go so fast! We spent a couple hours just visiting waiting for the contractions to create more dilation. It didn’t take long for her to jump from 5-8 (half in hour in fact) and we had to await the doctor’s arrival. From there it all happened so fast, if I didn’t have my camera I think something could have easily been missed in the blink of an eye. Ryker Eugene came out at 6 pounds 14 ounces, 18 inches. He’s quite the little hairy fella!
It’s Prom Season!! We spend a lot of time and money choosing our prom dresses, why only wear them once?! I had a blast photographing Kalyn showing off her dresses. She was overjoyed to wear them again and to have more then just the formal prom photos.

It’s one of my favorite times of the year, Senior Sessions!! I couldn’t have asked for a better model to kick off the season. Ashton was such a joy to work with, she has such a great spirit! We started at one of my favorite locations, Old Poway Park and then headed to the beautiful Scripps Seaside Forum. It was one of the hottest days of this horrid “winter” we’ve been having, but once we got to the beach the breeze was so refreshing. I can’t wait for the next session! 
I’ve noticed that sometimes as a photographer, I get in a rut. It’s about the classic portraits, not the crazy sessions. I did this session as something that popped into my head. It was quite fun and had my creative juices flowing!
My dad, Dave, has been an Iron Worker my whole life. He has done some seriously big buildings and bridges and was even the Superintendent on the new Minnesota Twins Target Stadium. He even signed the first structural beam that was put in! There are a lot of rules and regulations, so we weren’t allowed on job sites growing up. Luckily, now that I’m older, I was able to visit a job site! While I was there, I took this great portrait of my Dad. I just love the crane in the background!
I could have posted this entire session! I had such a hard time picking out my favorites. Vanessa “Nessa”, was a doll to photograph. She was so animated and talkative! Look at those blue eyes. The world better watch out she’s going to grow to be quite the little lady!

Two year olds are a handful! It was way too frigid to head outside for a portrait sessions so we went with the season, inside. Eli “decorated” the tree for me. As long as he didn’t know he was truly posing for me we had a good time. It was great to chase after him and also to document him at such an active age!
I had the wonderful opportunity of photographing this beautiful family. We even had a chance to do some portraits of the dogs in front of the tree! It’s always a challenge to photograph animals but they were so good! I love being able to photograph families in their homes, it bring a much more personal touch than just a studio. Also, it makes it a lot less stressful for the dogs, they are way more comfortable at home!
I LOVE new babies!!! You never know how the session is going to go. Are they going to be awake? Are they going to be in dreamland? Baby Jojo had no intention of sleeping during her session so we had a session with her wide awake! It was so much fun, can’t wait for the next baby. Thanks J!
