Growing up on a farm, my sister and I always talked about getting married on it. My sister, actually did – 11 years ago. She was before her time, and I was just getting into shooting weddings, who would have thought that rustic weddings would be such a hit for everyone? It is such an amazing trend right now that I absolutely love, because it’s literally close to my heart!
When Jamie from J’amie Events started planning the event, it had a winter theme. With such a weird winter, we didn’t have any snow. The transition to a spring/winter wedding was made, and it turned out beautiful! I absolutely love the shawls that Stefanie from Oh Sugar, made, and they would be amazing for a winter wedding!

Hayley and Mike were married at the Minneapolis Municipal Commission, this building is amazing! It has such beautiful architecture and the marble is breathtaking. We went out to Hayley’s grandparent farm in Medina for some bride and groom photos and to include the dogs (which I am ALWAYS a fan of!). The barn had such character, and the farm was a great way to have a little bit of country and a little bit of big city. When Hayley and Mike decided to have their wedding in February, the were hoping for a little bit of snow. Being that we had such a weird winter, there wasn’t any snow, but we were thankful that it was a little colder so there wasn’t any mud!
I absolutely love weddings. One of the best part of my job is that I get to be a part of the bride and groom’s big day. I get to capture moments that no one else is able to be a part of. One part of Mike and Hayley’s day that was really special was making a stop at the assisted living to visited her Grandma. Because of health reasons, she wasn’t able to attend the wedding, so we brought a part of the wedding to her! It was a very heartfelt gesture that Hayley wanted to include, and I couldn’t have been happier to do. I loved seeing Grandma’s face light up!

I had the privilege of photographing Maggie and Bryan’s wedding, and I was overjoyed to be able to photograph William. It is such a blessing to be able to grow with my past brides and grooms. William was in an out of sleep while I was playing with him, and had the cutest little smiles while he was dreaming. At just 10 days old, he is still really tiny!
